Selfless Spirit過去の同業者にはロクソドンの教主と不屈の随員があり，いずれもスタンダードで結果を残したが，いささか重く，エターナル向けではなかった．その点こいつは2マナと軽く，2/1飛行とスペックも標準的である．

ただしエターナルの除去でこいつが対応できるような除去はむしろ少数派であり，ソープロ，四肢切断，サドンショックといった手合に対して役に立たないのは注意すべきだろう．
メンターの同型で使うことを考えると，お互いがメンターを出し合う睨み合いの中で空からコツコツ点数を重ねつつ，相手の全力攻撃を不死身ブロッカーを用意することで受け止める．そして至高の評決をめぐる争いで決定的役割を演じると，相手の一歩先を行きやすくなる．メインからの採用は卡力の観点から厳しいが，メンターが増えるようならサイドに1枚くらい取っておいてもいいかな位の力はある．
ここで種族に注目すると，スピリット・クレリックは一流種族ではないが，同輩として封じ込める僧侶，堂々たる撤廃者，迷宮の霊魂あたりがおり，それほど悪くない．これらを使うフルクリーチャーデッキの採用も考えられる．
まあ悪くないと思うけど，やっぱり使われるかは懐疑的．
Deploy the Gatewatch時を越えた探索はとんでもない卡だった．モダン・レガシー・ヴィンテージで規制された件は言うに及ばず，スタンダードでも青系コントロールデッキがアブザンら凶悪クリーチャー満載デッキの向こうを張ってメタの一角であり続けたのは，時を越えた探索という明確なゴールが用意されていたのが大きい．そんなオールスター呪文DTTを失ったコントロールの苦境を見かねたWotCが，このように白で刷り直してくれたのは喜ぶべきことだろう．探査がなくなったのは痛いが，そこはPWを出すコストを肩代わりしてくれたんだと思えば・・・いや流石に自分をごまかせない

デッキ60枚中7枚にPW2枚が含まれる確率が50%を超えるためには，PWを14枚は放り込まなければならないが，いわゆるSuper FriendsでもPW数は12枚が関の山．しかも7枚中の2枚が同名であってはならないことなども考慮に入れると，さらに厳しい．これはストーリーを表現した浪漫卡として軽く流してやるのが温情だろう．
Cryptbreaker1マナでこれは流石に強い．群れネズミがヴィンテージで働いているのを見ても，このトークンジェネレートは決して重くない．しかも贅沢なドローまで付いている．ゾンビデッキを組みたくなってしまう程の強さだ．
